Do you want to contribute to a well-functioning social security system and a flexible labor market? We are now looking for case officers to work with recovery cases and ensure correct payments.
Join Sweden's largest unemployment fund
Akademikernas a-kassa is Sweden's largest unemployment fund with over 805,000 university-educated members across all industries and sectors - both employees and entrepreneurs. We ensure that people who lose their jobs receive the compensation they are entitled to.
Your responsibilities
At Akademikernas a-kassa, you play an important role in contributing to a safe and well-functioning labor market through the work you do every day. Our guiding principles are right, fast, and respectful, and therefore, one must enjoy providing service and be skilled at communication.
As a recovery case officer, you will work with:
- handling and making decisions on cases regarding repayment (ALF97 and ALF24)
- conducting systematic checks of already paid compensation according to the established model for post-checks
- participating in proactive work to ensure correct payments with a high level of service and quick payments across the department.
In this role, you will have daily contact with members, employers, and authorities primarily via phone or through our e-services. Handling compensation cases is also part of the ongoing work.
Together we create security – for employees and members
Your closest manager will be Erica Spillberg, and my focus is to ensure that you have a work environment characterized by security, job satisfaction, and clarity. Through open and direct dialogue, I want to create conditions for every employee to feel seen, appreciated, and motivated in their work.
In 2026, we will establish a new work group focused on correct payments. Our mission is to ensure that members receive the compensation they are entitled to and that recovery cases are handled quickly, respectfully, and legally when something goes wrong. You who work with correct payments and recoveries will be part of a section that also includes reconsideration officers and EU/EES officers. With us, we have fun at work, generously share our expertise, and support each other in driving the work forward with a clear solution focus.
We care about a sustainable workday. During the workday, the focus is fully on tasks, but when you go home, you should be able to completely disconnect from work. For us at Akademikernas a-kassa, it is important that every employee has a clear and long-term sustainable balance between work and leisure.
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, you need to have at least two years of experience in investigating and making decisions on compensation cases and have very good knowledge of all parts of the unemployment insurance, in both ALF97 and ALF24.
As a person, you enjoy working independently and taking ownership of your tasks, and you have the ability to see both the big picture in a case while also paying attention to details that are crucial for a correct decision. You have good communication skills and can explain complex issues in a pedagogical way so that they become understandable to the recipient. You have a service-oriented and professional approach, even in situations that may be sensitive, and you are used to using the phone as a working tool in contact with members.
You also have:
- the ability to organize and prioritize your work, even under varying workloads
- an interest in preventive work and are motivated to contribute to correct payments and legally secure processes
- confidence in working with numbers and basic mathematics, which allows you to handle calculations and financial documents accurately.
Other requirements for the position include:
- a completed academic education or equivalent work experience, preferably with a focus on law
- very good knowledge of Our Pages.
Experience in handling recovery cases is an advantage but not a requirement. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
You are offered
We offer many benefits. Through our collective agreement, we have among other things:
- Shortened workweek of 37.5 hours
- 35 vacation days
- Lunch benefit via Edenred worth 1,496 SEK per month
- Wellness allowance of 4,980 SEK per year

- Access to Benify's benefits portal
